Be decisive

Mr David J. Wippich is the President and CEO of Ensim Corporation. As President and CEO, Mr David Wippich has over twenty years of experience at international technology companies. Most recently, Mr David served as the President and Chief Operating Officer at Active ISP, one of Europe's largest domain name and hosting providers to the SME market. Previously he was Executive Vice-President of Marketing and Sales at ConnectInc.com. In prior positions, Mr David was Vice-President and General Manager for the Internet and Embedded Products Division of Phoenix Technologies and Award Software, and he served in a variety of senior sales and operations management positions at Acer

Two things that my education/training taught me:

Be decisive. Never delay hard decisions once you know the right answer.

Over delegating. You can always take the task back if your team is incapable of completing the task. A managers' first job is always to manage.

Two things I learnt from my work/real life:

When there is any doubt, there is no doubt (if you doubt a person is capable, then they are in fact incapable, if you a doubt a situation is so, then it is not that way). Time is the enemy (you can always get more people, money, customers), time is irreplaceable.

One Quality I look for the most in a new recruit:

Tenacity. Someone who doesn't quit. Second, I would say, ownership. They take personal responsibility for theirs and their teams' actions

A book that I read recently:

Inevitable surprises. Its about historical and future macro economic trends.
