Colours of health: Fill the imagination with works of art: it is food for the soul Bharat Savur Please do not worry about losing your job, and never feel insecure about what life has in store for you. Fear makes a poor companion — it clouds intelligence, stifles presence of mind and vitiates resourcefulness. Fear primarily arises from not knowing what will happen. Be aware: it’s okay not to know! You are afraid because you see life from the concept: “Life must be predictable to be secure.” That is why, what you cannot predict makes you uneasy. Please understand the beautiful gifts invisibly present in the state of not knowing: Positive expectations — Having positive expectations transforms the hard-fisted fear in your stomach to a soft blossoming flower in your heart. Expect Plan A to work smoothly. In this positive expectation, the very energy you radiate is of a high vibrant quality. You literally learn to manufacture positivity. If the outcome was predictable, you’d saunter in complacently and never learn the wonderful art of creating this inner magnetic dynamism throbbing with hope and possibilities. Action: Find your positive buzz. Become enthusiastic. Have no ambition save a burning one to give your best to every moment. Beautify your imagination — When you worry, when you fear, you misuse your imagination. Imagination is a beautiful software to be used very creatively, very artistically. Create a vision of love. With eyes closed, visualise yourself with family, friends, colleagues standing, dancing, singing in the circle of life, vibrating with the seven vivid colours of energy. See each colour. Hear the shared laughter, the voices raised to the skies. Smell the freshness of the air and trees lush with fruits. Taste the plump, juicy sweetness of the fruits. Feel the tingle of joy, the adrenaline of health and wellbeing coursing through the entire group. Know that each and everyone are gainfully employed and financially well-to-do. Experience the sweetness of spending loving time with your folk after a full day of rewarding work. Feel connected. Feel alive. Action: Visualise and fill the imagination with works of art. Remember: beautiful visions are food for the soul, mind, senses; visualisation the recipe. Dwell in solutions — Don’t make your mind shallow in which fish of little thoughts complain about problems; make your mind oceanic where the divine dolphins of inspired solutions abound. In this ocean, there are no problems, only decisions. When you thus shift focus to decisions, you generate creative energy that throws up all kinds of ideas, points to new directions, prepares you for unforeseen circumstances, wisens you to expect the unexpected. Your attention has power. So, dwell on solutions, decide and act. When situations change, you can be steadfast in your solutions. Action: Treat your mind with respect by not piling it with the garbage of negativity. Give it clear spaces to create, solve, to nourish your dreams. Feel supported — Support begets support. Take a supportive approach when you meditate (yes, please do meditate). You can send these thoughts out during meditation to all those you know: “If you are tired, may you find rest. If you are anxious, may you find peace. If you are lonely, may you find love. If you are sick, may you find health. If you are unemployed, may you find work. May your mind and heart be calm with the knowledge that you are loved beyond all creation. Love surrounds you now and forever.” Trust and believe that a higher power is always conspiring to make things work for you. It is said that the life of a person of faith is full of miracles. When you wish the best for all, it returns tenfold to you via good people not necessarily from your personal circle. Know: unpredictability gives flexible options. And fear is an invitation to think out of the box, to contemplate on some much-needed changes. Cut fat out of your mechanical routine — work on your inner discipline rather than be disciplined by outer circumstances. Inner discipline enables you to care for your health by exercising daily and eating sensibly; setting few tasks for the day and experiencing the thrill of doing them thoroughly and efficiently; treating people with respect so that you don’t suffer from guilt pangs later; and thinking positive thoughts that involve suspending judgement over carping colleagues or a demanding boss. Exercising de-stresses the brain and makes life appear manageable during tough times and magical during good times. Doing fewer tasks keeps you clearheaded where you live through the day more deliberately on your terms rather than be pushed around by things that will always crop up. The more disciplined you are inwardly, the easier life feels. Above all, think of what you have — wealth, talent, knowledge, love, ability, kindness, experience — and let it overflow where you share it with others. When you become selfless, your thinking becomes creative, not competitive. And fear transmutes into bliss.
