Craft treat

Preeti Mehra

It's back again — Delhi's well received `Nature Bazaar' at the Dilli Haat. On till February 14, it is an event that deserves to be replicated in metros all over the country. Organised by Dastkar, it showcases the hundred different skills of crafts and craftpersons.

So, what would you find there? Organic food grains, natural and processed fruits and jams, herbal medicines, natural oils, handmade paper and bags made from recycled material are some of them. Besides, there is also a wide range of products made from natural fibres and materials, apart from garments, soft furnishings, jewellery, toys, leather, pottery, painting, accessories, gifts and decorative items.

There is also a retrospective on the life of Kamaladevi Chatopadhyay and her contribution to the revival of the country's craft heritage. Other special features, this year, include lectures and demonstrations on alternative medicine. There will also be street plays on cultural diversity, health and hygiene, and workshops on recycling waste material, puppet making, vegetable dyeing, etc.
