More flair in new Ikon

The new Jeans Blue colour.

Ford India has introduced a new colour and new trim option in the 2007 version of the Ikon, its entry-level sedan. Targeting the young buyer, the new Ikon has been introduced with plush new interiors and stylish exterior enhancements.

The 2007 version of the Ikon will now come with plush beige and dark parchment interiors, matching seat fabric and trims and a new instrument cluster graphic as part of the standard package.

Dashboard layout and overall interior design are similar to the previous version's, but the two-tone interior colour theme improves the new version's appeal.

An attempt at refreshing the car's interior was due before model fatigue sets in.

Spruced up interiors.

Recognising customers' desire to individualise their vehicles, Ford India is also offering young buyers a few exciting enhancements at an additional cost of Rs 35,000. So, for buyers looking for sporty add-ons, the package will include features such as:

Rear spoiler;

Sporty alloy wheels;

Sporty seat covers;

Anti-theft alarm;

Chrome deck lid handle; and

Chrome exhaust trim.

In addition to its existing range, the 2007 Ikon has been introduced in a brand new colour, Jeans Blue, to offer consumers more choice.

The new Ikon will continue to be available in Papkrika Red, Moondust Silver, Diamond White, Panther Black Platinum and Jewel Violet.

The freshening up of the 2007 model is said to be based on customer feedback and the profile of the Ikon customer, being a 25-30-year-old aspiring individual, typically employed in the knowledge sector. The new model costs Rs 4.76 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi and Hyderabad). The Ford Ikon was launched in 1999, and has been one of Ford India's largest selling models.
