Ford's new sedan

Ford is expected to launch a new sedan soon, increasing its fleet in this segment to three. The car will make its world debut in India later this year. Mr David Friedman, former Managing Director of Ford India, had said that the company would introduce TDCi (Turbo Diesel Common-rail Injection) technology with the launch of the new model in India.

With the new model, Ford India will introduce Duratec and Duratorq engines. The Duratec petrol engine, based on aluminium body construction, will be lighter than standard alloy engines; the Duratorq is an advanced version of Ford's TDCi technology. Ford's global engineering and design team supported by specialist Indian engineers is said to be developing the new model.
