No sales tax on cell cards
Sales tax cannot be charged on the cash card in cellphones.
This is the ruling of the Delhi High Court. This has been the ruling as it includes airtime usage which cannot be a subject matter of sales tax. If sales tax is levied, the authorities would be taxing airtime usage. The court was ruling on a petition filed by Bharti Cellular which operates the Air-Tel cell phone service. -- BL Research Bureau
