Rate cut on small savings, PF likely
The Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council has recommended a drastic drop of two percentage points in small-savings and provident fund rates.
This would reduce the interest burden on the Budget. And also lower commercial interest rates with favourable effects on investments. But this could lead to a lower savings rate growth.
