Investors' Protection Fund
The Investors' Protection Fund (IPF), vesting with the Union Government, will start its functioning shortly.
The fund will be used for investor education and awareness. It would be channelled through independent non-governmental organisations (NGOs). The IPF aims to increase investor protection. In a related move, the Law Ministry is also seriously considering a legislation for investors' protection, which is loosely termed the Investors' Protection Act.
