Dealing with housing sites
THE Madras High Court has upheld an earlier Commercial Taxes Department GO which stated that the sale of house sites on unapproved layouts could be registered only after the Registering Officer gets a ``no objection certificate'' from the local body concerned.
However, this will be applicable only for transfer of house sites by the promoter or landowner of the unapproved layout, made for the first time after the above order was issued. The Government can regularise those sites which are already registered by collecting the necessary development charges.
