Inflation up
A new series of Wholesale Price Index (WPI) with 1993-94 as the base year has been introduced with effect from the week ending April 1, 2000.
The inflation rate (as measured by the new Wholesale Price Index) has moved up to 7.43 per cent for the week-ended November 25, 2000. It moved up by 2 points from 7.41 per cent last week. The inflation rate for the corresponding week of last year was at 2.88 per cent.
