WPI edges lower
The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) was lower by 0.2 per cent to 157.9 from the previous week's figure of 158.2 and 147 a year back. The final WPI for the third week of September stood at 154.4 as against the provisional level of 154.
The primary articles group index decreased sharply by 0.9 per cent, while manufactured prices were marginally up by 0.1 per cent. Fuel prices remained firm at the previous week's level of 220.9.
