Inflation marginally up
The annual inflation rate increased marginally by 0.14 per cent to 6.92 for the week-ended October 28 due to costlier manufactured items.
The point-to-point inflation rate based on the WPI for all commodities (Base:1993-94=100) rose from the previous week's level of 6.78 and of 3.22 a year ago. The final inflation rate for the week-ended September 2 was at 6.13 per cent as against the provisional figure of 5.64.
The prices of manufactured products rose by 0.4 per cent, while primary articles' prices were lower by 0.1 per cent. Fuel prices remained unchanged from the previous week's level.
