Govt gives nod for Chit funds Act amendment

The Union Cabinet has given the go-ahead to amend the chit funds Act 1882, which would lead to an increase in the limits of aggregate amount of chits and the amount of discount to be forgone by a subscriber.

The proposal would also expand the cope of securities acceptable as deposits.
