CMIE lowers GDP forecast to 5.8 per cent
The Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) has cut the GDP forecast for 2000-2001 to 5.8 per cent from 7 per cent with a sharp downward revision in agricultural and industrial output, a marginal downward revision in services and raised expected rates of inflation to 8 per cent.
