CHENNAI, May 9: Standard Gold prices opened higher on Friday at Rs 11,955 against yesterday's close of Rs 11,795. Retail ornament gold prices opened higher at Rs 1,108 per gram, higher by Rs 15. It closed yesterday at Rs 1,093.

Retail Silver moved up to Rs 25.05 per gram. It closed at Rs 24.65 yesterday. Higher international rates and good demand from local jewellers was the reason for higher prices, traders said.
