Internet Columns - Come Again! Getting hooked I remember a couple of years ago when Twitter hadn't caught on, it was regarded as a flippant site. I subscribed to the view whole-heartedly. Why should anyone want to know what I am doing `right now'? And why on earth should I tell the world even if I am doing something interesting (that too rarely). But now I wonder at how things have changed... or how Twitter has managed to change things. I am almost becoming a Twitter and Facebook addict. (I am thinking of asking my bosses to keep space for a `Twitter Anonymous' room). What has made Twitter interesting is that people have found ways to make it more useful. And there are applications such as TweetDeck and Seismic that help you track Twitter and Facebook accounts. If you have Flock, you need not even leave your browser to be `connected'. The latest version of Flock has better integration for Twitter and Facebook. If you don't have flock, and if you prefer Firefox, you can install the Yoono plugin, which helps you connect to multiple social and chat networks. I have both Yoono and Firefox. I also have TweetDeck and Seismic. I have TweetS60, Snaptu and Shozu in my E71. I also connect to all the sites through Pixelpipe in my mobile via Nokia Share Online. So, in effect, I am surrounded by Twitter, Facebook and other social sites. And well on my way to becoming an addict. R. DINAKARAN More Stories on : Internet | Come Again!
