Explaining the concept, he says, “What we’ve done with BookMyShow.com is take the power of a box office executive, add a scientific mix of usability and serve it as a product that the user can access through multiple channels. The option of comparing show timings, locations and ticket prices, coupled with the ‘choose-your-seats’ option, enables complete planning.” Easy accessThe site is easily navigable. The site accepts multiple payment options such as credit cards, debit cards and Internet banking to enable everyone to transact on the site. “We are also working towards becoming a complete cinema information database. The application, Showtime, provides show-timing information of nearly 1,500 screens across the country, even if the cinema does not allow online booking. We have mapped the latitudes and longitudes of all cinemas in the country to offer this, in future, as an informational service to GPS and mobile users for navigation, says Hemrajani. security featuresEntering your bank details are safe as the site is McAfee certified as ‘HackerSafe’ site with a series of penetration tests being carried out daily to ensure online security. The site also has loyalty programmes. “Bookmyshow.com has recently announced an alliance with I-mint, providing for the first time ever an I-mint customer reward programme. The ‘Earn and Burn’ initiative offers entertainment buffs the advantage of being able to earn loyalty points on their I-mint cards when booking tickets for movies and plays nationwide. These earnings can then be redeemed through Bookmyshow.com as gift vouchers of different denominations, which can then be used for future purchases on Bookmyshow.com,” says Hemrajani. “Besides being the official ticketing partners of Dostana we grossed ticketing sales worth Rs 2 crore for the run of the film. For Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi we grossed about Rs 1.2 crore in the opening weekend (three days), receiving around 10,000 page views,” he says. More Stories on : E-Commerce & E-Business | Cinema | Internet
