The unseen city

YOUR FEEL of the city on a wet day.

You are stuck in office, and towards the end of a long day, you yearn for a feel of your city. A wave of nostalgia sweeps through your mind: sharing street food with your best friend, feeling lost at the fair, slumming with the gang... Well, let's at least admit that we are the sentimental kind.

But what about the city now, when all you are doing is waiting for a call or an e-mail?

There is a special project, The Unseen Video (www.theunseenvideo.com) , which tries to comfort you in some way.

The Web site plays a weather-controlled, dynamic music video, so you not only get a different video every day, you also get an idea of what the weather is like outside in the city. The elements of the video - the background and some animation - are controlled by the weather forecast for your city and the time of the day. The song, "You make me feel" by Mike Milosh, adds to the nostalgia.

The Web site is a final year project of two design students, Daniel Scheibel and Ferdinand Weinrother.

Someone can take this concept further enough to make the sentimental cry: the ability to add one's own photos of people and the city to the video!
