Computer Usage Columns - Tip Off Security concerns
I have a PC with Pentium IV processor and with Windows 98 as OS. My PC is open to access by my office colleagues; there is no LAN system. I want to store some of my files and software so that they cannot be seen and operated, altered or deleted by colleagues. Is it possible to do so? Abhishek Mittal Basically, you do not have any folder-level security in Windows 98, but you can download and install third-party software and utilities to have some degree of security. Folder guard is one such software. You can download it from the following URL: http://freedownloadscenter.com/Utilities/Access_Control_ Utilities/Folder_Guard_Standard_Download.html. The utilities are easy to use you can hide or make the folder accessible by password. There are also some similar utilities to download from the following URLs: http://www.sharewarejunkies.com/ 9zwd1/fake_dos.htm http://www.sharewarejunkies.com /winsecur.htm
