Playing CDs on Windows media player

Please let me know whether all video CDs can be played using windows media player? I have a P4 computer with windows millennium edition operating system. I have a video CD, which shows that the full capacity has been used, but the CD does not contain any files, which can be played on a VCD player. Please suggest how to play them using windows media player.

Yes, windows media player can play video CDs. Please make sure you have Windows Media Player 6.4 or a higher version installed. Insert the VCD into your CD-ROM or DVD drive. In media player, open the CD. You will find a folder called `MPEGAV', open it and in the `files of type' drop down list (at the bottom of the Open Dialog box) please select `All files'. You will find a file usually, AVSEQ01.DAT. Open it and then press play.
