Computer Usage Columns - Tip Off Course in animation
I would like to get a working knowledge in animation. How should I select a course and what is the software used for that purpose? M.P.C. Nambiar There are several softwares available for animation work. It is evident that today animation has found its place in quiet a many areas of application, which include movies, games, stimulators, sports and lots more. Some of the softwares available today for professional animation work are, 3D Max and Maya. There are many institutions which offer courses on animation, like the Arena Multimedia, Image and CADD Centre. The selection of the course will, however, depend on the level of learning you would like to have in animation. If you are planning to become a professional, then opting to do a course similar to above mentioned institutions would be better. Otherwise any institute which offers course on animation software of your interest will do. Anyway, you will have to do a lots of hands-on, either at home or at a institute to master your skills. Mere theorotical knowledge won't do much in animation learning. It would be preferable to invest in have a PC at home and learn at home with little help form a reasonably cost-economic institute.
