Booting trouble

I have booting problems in my computer. Whenever I boot my system, the windows flashing screen appears and then it goes to dos mode. I see the message "If you want to go to windows type exit" but when I type "exit" the problem doesn't end. The system comes to the same position again. Please suggest a solution.

Probably the bootGUI option of the msdos.sys file has been set to 0. You will have to change it to 1. To do this, please switch on the computer. When it comes to the dos prompt, go to your system directory like c:\windows and open the file msdos.sys. This file is a system file and will be hidden. It is also a readonly file.

So use the attrib command remove the system, read only and hidden attributes, type the command attrib - s - h - r msdos.sys, then open the file and locate the line which says BootGUI=0 and change the value 0 to 1.

Save the file and restart the system. If you are not used to dos editing, you can always type `win' from the system directory and start up the windows OS.

Once in windows, open the msdos.sys file after removing the attributes and change the value. Now save the file and restart the system.
