Briefcase use

Please explain about Briefcase and its Web address and how to use it.

Krishna Kumar

Briefcase allows you to synchronise your files on two different drives. As an example, if you ordinarily save files to your local C: drive, you can use Briefcase to do periodic backups of your files to a network drive.

Here is how you do it: Open the Briefcase and just Drag the folder(s) you wish to backup to the briefcase. Briefcase is not a fully automated backup. It does require action on your part. Open the Briefcase. It will display the current status (`up to date' or `needs updating'). If the Briefcase needs updating, click on Briefcase in the menu bar. Choose update all. Briefcase will display what files need to be updated. Choose Update.

Deciding how often to run Briefcase depends on your circumstances. A prime consideration would be the amount of change that your files experience. A good starting point would be once a week.
