For font junkies

There's no addiction quite like font addiction, and I am sure fellow addicts will agree with me. And with the Net chockfull with free fonts, any font collector couldn't have had it better.

There are dozens of sites offering free fonts in as many types as the mind can imagine, but this week, we take a look at three of the best.

www.larabiefonts.com

Ray Larabie's site is believed to be one of the original pioneers of freeware fonts on the Internet, and that alone is reason to check it out.

Of course, like all pioneers, it has never rested on laurels, but keeps making continuous efforts to deliver the latest and best in top quality free fonts.

A big plus point of the site is the way the fonts are neatly arranged, in categories with suitable headings.

Larabie also offers plenty of dope on how to make your own fonts, utilities, and links to other free font sites so that you know exactly what's happening in the world of fonts.

www.wantedfonts.com

This font site is a real find, a neatly laid out dynamic collection of unique and useful fonts for Web developers, people in the graphic creation business and others.

With hundreds of fonts in its collection, in a great many categories and also arranged alphabetically, this site is a must-see for all font junkies.

The site claims that just a year of its launch, over 1,000,000 fonts have been downloaded from the site, which is not surprising at all given the range.

The site also has a Help section, to help you with anything to do with fonts, and links to other related resources.

www.fontasy.de

So why's a German site being featured in this column? Simply because it is home to one of the best font collections on the Internet.

It is structured in clinical fashion that enables you to browse through the site and download fonts to your heart's content.

The site is growing in popularity mainly due to the fact that it lists over 1,400 free fonts that are categorised alphabetically. There are many unique fonts available that you are unlikely to find anywhere else on the Net.

Having realised how popular it is getting among non-German speaking font maniacs, the site has included navigation in English, but there's hardly any need for that.
