Globus unveils in-house brand in Mumbai store

MUMBAI, Nov. 1
GLOBUS Stores Pvt Ltd, the retail chain of stores belonging to the Rajan Raheja Group, has introduced a new in-house brand at its latest flagship store at Bandra in Mumbai.
F 21, is the new unisex fashion brand targeting the young generation. This is in addition to the company's brand by its own name which has been in existence since it opened its first store at Indore in 1999.
At a press conference held here at the opening of its fourth store, Mr Ved Prakash Arya, Chief Executive Officer, Globus, said, ``We expect to double our turnover with the opening of this new store.'' However, he was not willing to disclose any financial figures for our company.
The company intends to beat the slowdown in the retailing industry by improving the quality of its garments. As Mr Arya says, ``We are confident of our merchandise. The price and quality will help in getting a better response from our consumers.''
Added Mr Rajan Raheja, Chairman of the Group, ``The Globus apparel brand will focus on creating its identity in the retail industry by offering innovative styling, quality and value proposition to the Indian consumer.''
Hiring a host of designers from institutes such as the NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) and NID (National Institute of Design), Globus has relied on its team of in-house designers for its in-house brands apart from stocking the brands of other branded players.
It has also appointed Ogilvy & Mather to develop a campaign for its store which depicts the merchandise offered by the stores. ``We have not got in any celebrity to endorse our brand and it is the merchandise which is being highlighted in our campaign.''
In addition to the Indore store, the company has two more stores in Chennai. However its largest store is the newly opened 30,000 sq.ft. store at Bandra which will be treated as the flagship store of the company.
