`Baywatch' project to begin next year

KOCHI, Oct. 31

THE Kochi-based Sree Bhadra Parks and Resorts Ltd is setting up a water theme and amusement park at Kanyakumari next year. The company plans to begin the Rs 25-crore project `Baywatch' in April 2002.

Located at the Kovalam road in Kanyakumari, the park has the capacity to accommodate a maximum 4,000 visitors per day. As many as 20 rides have been included for active entertainment and the entrance fee is fixed at Rs 100 inclusive for all rides, Mr K.N. Narayanan Namboothiripad, Managing Director, told a press conference.

The centre has been conceptualised to have a science dome, a coral museum, under waterworld aquarium and a planetarium converging ancient Indian and modern astronomy.

Entertainment with education will be the trend in the future of amusement parks and Baywatch is a pioneer in bringing quality education and quality entertainment together, he added.
