Cipla Q1 net up 17% at Rs 140.04 cr

MUMBAI: Drug maker Cipla on Friday announced its the first quarter net profit at Rs 140.04 crore, an increase of 16.93 per cent over the same period a year-ago.

The company had a net profit of Rs 119.76 crore in the corresponding period in FY'08, Cipla said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The total income rose to Rs 1,224.14 crore in the latest quarter, from Rs 911.80 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal. The board has recommended a dividend of 100 per cent on shares of face value of Rs 2 for FY'08.
