`Enron will complete second phase'
Our Bureau
NEW DELHI, Sept. 6
ENRON Corporation has given a commitment that it will complete the second phase of the Dabhol power project despite having said that it will exit from India, the Director-General of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mr Tarun Das, said here on Wedne
sday.
Talking to newspersons, Mr Das said that CII was acting as facilitator to bring the parties together and resolve the problem. ``We brought Maruti and Suzuki together earlier. CII is trying to resolve the Enron problem in a win-win situation,'' Mr Das sai
d. He further added that a solution could be reached as early as the end of this month.
Mr Das said that it is important to sort out the Enron issue amicably, despite the company's exit from India. ``It is important to the future foreign investment climate in India, it will also reinforce the point that power is not a dud sector and is also
very important to the Indo-US ties,'' he said.
