Investsmart offers tips thru Investfest

R.Y. Narayanan

COIMBATORE, Sept. 5

INVESTSMART India Ltd, floated by IL&FS, has launched a nationwide `Debt Investment Festival'. Styled `Investfest', it is being held in 25 offices of Investsmart across the country in partnership with five mutual funds _ HDFC Mutual Fund, Standard Charte red MF, Prudential ICICI MF, Franklin Templeton Investments and Sundaram MF, from September 3 to 16, including on week-ends.

The event will explain to the investors the various investment options available in debt funds, including MIPs, liquid funds, gilt funds, income funds and fixed maturity plan and it will be a mainly `debt funds' oriented exercise, according to Mr V. Kuma r, Marketing Executive, Investsmart India Ltd, Coimbatore.

Speaking to Business Line, he said though the festival was being held in association with five MFs, the investors could get information about the other MFs also. Officials from the five MFs would be available on week-ends to clarify doubts.

He said in view of the wild swings in the capital

markets, there had been a sharp shift in investor preference to debt funds. Mr Kumar said the investment experts from Investsmart would provide guidance to prospective investors who were scouting for safer investment options in the wake of the continuous fall in bank and small savings interest rates. Based on investor profile, the advice offered would be tailor-made and the recommendations would mainly cover debt investment products from the MFs.
