Tata Power gets new Deputy MD

MUMBAI: Mr Firdose A. Vandrevala will join Tata Power as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) from November 1. Mr Vandrevala is now the DMD of Tata Steel.

The appointment is part of the group's succession planning, a news release said. The Tata Power Managing Director, Mr Adi J. Engineer, and the Executive Director, Mr A.M. Sahni, will retire on August 31, 2001.

Mr Vandrevala has held various positions in Tata Steel since 1972, the release said. He will have a five-year term initially, starting November 1, 2001. -- Our Bureau
