Karnataka: Governing panel of KCCI elected
MANGALORE: The governing committee of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) for the year 2001-2002 was elected at the chamber's sixtieth annual general meeting held here on August 30.
According to a press release issued here, Mr G. Giridhar Prabhu has been unanimously elected President of KCCI for the year 2001-2002. Mr. Giridhar Prabhu is the proprietor of the Mangalore-based Achal Industries and also Director of Achal Cashews Pvt Lt
d. He is also a member of the steering committee on cashew under the chairmanship of the Secretary (Agriculture and Co-operation) to the Union Government. He was also Vice-Chairman of the Cashew Export Promotion Council of India.
Also, Mr R.D. Kini has been unanimously elected Vice-President and Mr K. Surendra Prabhu Treasurer. Capt. John Prasad Menezes and Mr Santhosh D'Souza have been elected Honorary Secretaries.
Among the members of the governing committee are Mr G. Vishwanath Kamath, Mr Kalbavi Prakash Rao, Mr H. Ashok Shenoy, Mr M. Aziz Ahmed, Mr Kumble Narasimha Prabhu, Mr M. Padmanabha Kamath, Mr Gerald Colaco, Mr A. Srinivas Rao, Mr Seetharam Bhat, Mr R.C.
Rodrigues, Mr Ahmad Bava and Mr M. Shekhara Pujari. -- Our Bureau
