Economy
Bankers and confidence
This refers to the article `Vision 2020: Why don't bankers have self-confidence?' (Business Line, August 13). It compares the banking atmospheres prevailing in the US and India. Both nations are wedded to democratic ideals. But the understanding and perc eption of the prevailing ideals by the subjects of these two nations are altogether different.

Lending woes
The article `Travails of a surplus economy' (Business Line, August 16) narrates in detail the present Indian economic scenario.
