Tata Chemicals board proposes buyback up to 15%
THE board of Tata Chemicals Ltd (TCL) has recommended a buyback of up to 15 per cent of the company's share capital, an official statement said.

 US-64 to be linked to NAV by Nov
UTI'S Unit Scheme-1964 (US-64) will be linked to the net asset value (NAV) by November 2001, about two months earlier than the scheduled date of January 2002. Unit Trust of India (UTI) will also make a complete portfolio disclosure of the scheme by that time, according to the UTI Chairman, Mr M. Damodaran.

Select BSRBs get extension
IT'S finally a fresh lease of life for Banking Services Recruitment Boards (BSRBs), with the Government giving extension to some of these boards to function beyond the July 31 deadline stipulated for their closure. The July 31 closure date was mentioned in the Finance Minister, Mr Yashwant Sinha's Union Budget speech for 2001-02.

 AP co-op bank downs shutters
KRUSHI Co-Operative Urban Bank Ltd, one of the 76 urban co-operative banks in the city and Ranga Reddy districts zone, has closed down its office at Ranigunj owing to a serious mismatch of funds.

Dow Jones' arm plan on hold
A PROPOSAL by media house Dow Jones Company Inc, US, to set up a wholly-owned subsidiary in India has been put on hold with the Government seeking more details on the proposed investment and plans.

 Mallya may merge US brewery cos with BrewCo
THE UB group Chairman, Mr Vijay Mallya, may merge his personal brewery investments in the US with BrewCo, a recently floated domestic beer subsidiary. Mr Mallya's direct investments in the US beer industry is valued at around Rs 140 crore.
