Pillai appointed NMPT Secretary
MANGALORE: The Union Government has appointed Mr D. Vijayan Pillai as Secretary of New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) with effect from July 18.
According to an NMPT press release, Mr Pillai was Under Secretary (Port Development) in the Union Ministry of Shipping prior to his appointment as NMPT Secretary.
Mr Pillai is reported to have held ``senior positions'' in several ``important Ministries'' of the Union Government. -- Our Bureau
