Of the quantity of 807,000 kg on offer in the dust category, well made and good medium CTCs were dearer by Rs 2-4 and occasionally more. Very poor CTC tended to ease. Orthodox highgrown was steady to dearer while Mediums were dearer by Rs 2-4.

The best CTC varieties commanded prices between Rs 55-78, medium CTC realised Rs 45-52 and poorer type were quoted Rs 27-33. Highgrown BOPD fetched prices between Rs 65-86, while medium BOPD realised Rs 26-35. Secondaries and residuals were quoted Rs 19- 25 and Rs 15-18 respectively.

However, the leaf sale witnessed only a fair general demand and the quantity on offer was 338,000 kg. Good quality medium highgrown brokens were steady to dearer. Others barely steady and tended to ease. CTCs were steady to dearer by Re 1 to Rs 2. CIS ex porters were very selective on orthodox grades and other exporters were fair. CTCs witnessed good demand from upcountry and defence buyers.

The best Nilgiri varieties commanded prices between Rs 53-63, medium orthodox realised Rs 42-60 and plain orthodox were quoted Rs 33-35. The best CTC leaf fetched prices between Rs 50-55, while medium CTC leaf realised Rs 39-43.
