Jindal Photo plans Fujifilm plazas in 10 cities

Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, July 4

JINDAL Photo Films Ltd (JPFL) has announced plans to launch 150 Fujifilm Picture Plazas in ten select cities starting July 2001.

The ten city programme is expected to cover Chandigarh in the north, Asansol and Kolkata in the East, Aurangabad, Nagpur, Nashik and Pune in the West and Bangalore, Kochi and Mysore in the South.

Through the launch of the Fujifilm Picture Plazas, JPFL aims to significantly augment its retail network. All these outlets will stock a comprehensive range of photo material for the amateur and professional photographers, including cameras, an array of photo film rolls and also new cameras and products as and when they are launched, a company release said.

Currently, JPFL has a chain of over 500 Fujifilm Image Service Centres, which apart from providing photofinishing as per Fujifilm standards, also provides the right ambience for the customers to buy their photographic needs.

Following a franchise route, JPFL is expected to sign agreements for setting up the plazas with select studios in each city. These studios will have to conform to the quality requirements set by the company. Studio owners are also set to be put through a rigorous training programme.
