IWAI allowed to tap market for growth schemes
THE Inland Water Transport Policy formulated by the Centre authorises the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) to issue bonds and mobilise funds from the market as is the case with other infrastructure sectors. The exact nature of the bonds will be decided in consultation with the concerned Ministries on an annual basis, the policy paper, copy of which is available with Business Line, says.
