HYDERABAD, May 6
MERCEDES-BENZ India Ltd has announced the national launch of its new C-Class car with an extensive package of more than 20 technical innovations from the Mercedes flagship models on an unprecedented level for its market segment here on Sunday.
According to the Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Juergen Zeigler, proven and new Mercedes core values make the new C-Class the most attractive in this market segment.
``Its dynamic styling, the new powerful engine and the sporty chassis are all important details that are united in a single aim of providing maximum driving pleasure. As a result, our customers benefit from the technical lead of the brand.''
Presenting the new C-Class to the media at Taj Krishna here, the Mercedes-Benz India General Manager, Mr Faria, said: ``Never before has so much attention been paid in this vehicle class to the aspects of safety and comfort as in the development of the n
ew Mercedes-Benz C-Class. With the top-class technology, it guarantees the maximum of both dynamism and driving pleasure.''
According to Mr Faria, while designing the new C-Class, ``individuality'' was not forgotten, since Mercedes customers have many ways of giving ``their'' C-Class a highly personal character.
``The concept of individualisation has been carried forward even more while introducing for the first time the `AMG concept'. AMG stands for highly customised cars ranging from body styling kits, special alloy wheels and tyres to interior features to mat
ch with individual taste of the customers. The AMG concept is officially recognised and approved by Mercedes-Benz and is introduced for the first time with C-Class, although available for the entire product range of the S, E and C-Class.''
Mercedes-Benz is offering the new C-Class, from its assembling facility in Pune, with two engines -- C-180 petrol version and C-200 CDI diesel version. The E and S-Class cars are already being produced at the Pune facility.
``With the launch of the new C-Class, Mercedes-Benz India is present with a highly attractive product portfolio of S, E and C-Class and is prepared to offer the widest choice for its customers in the luxury segments between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 60 lakh,'' M
r. Faria said.
Mercedes-Benz India expects to sell around 60 new C-Class cars in Andhra Pradesh and around 750 cars across the country during the current year.
