LIC Housing net at Rs 27 cr

MUMBAI: LIC Housing Finance Ltd (LICHFL) has registered a net profit of Rs 27.85 crore (Rs 26.25 crore) for the second quarter ended September 30, 2000.

Its income from operations for the period stood at Rs 197.49 crore (Rs 157.71 crore). Interest expenses were Rs 141.04 crore (Rs 117.96 crore) while other expenses stood at Rs 17.45 crore (Rs 5.43 crore).

After providing for depreciation of Rs 0.22 crore (Rs 0.25 crore), provision for taxation was Rs 10.93 crore (Rs 7.84 crore).

Gross profit after interest but before depreciation and taxation stood at Rs 39 crore (Rs 34.34 crore). -- Our Bureau
