Dhanalakshmi Bank net up 28 pc
KOCHI: The net profit of the Thrissur-based Dhanalakshmi Bank grew by 28 per cent to touch Rs 6.43 crore during the first six months of the current year, as against Rs 5.03 crore recorded during the corresponding period of last year.
Its operating profit grew by 48 per cent to touch Rs 15.69 crore (Rs 10.58 crore). The total deposit went up by 19 per cent to touch Rs 1,483.26 crore. The gross advances moved up by 23 per cent, according to a bank's official release.
The cost of deposits had been brought down to less than 9 per cent, while the capital adequacy ratio had been maintained above the 10-per cent benchmark.
The bank was adding impetus to e-engineering, the release said, by moving to connectivity of the computerised branches. The bank opened its first ATM at Thrissur and would be shortly opening its second ATM at Kochi. -- Our Bureau
