BCONNECTB Worldwide Ltd, the business-to-business (B2B) subsidiary of Aptech Ltd, launched on Tuesday ``ISearchCenter.com'' which would provide Net-based research services.

The venture is being set up by BconnectB with Dr. Nitin Nohria as a strategic advisor and a member of the board of directors. Aptech Ltd has invested an initial amount of $1 million in the venture.

Addressing presspersons in Mumbai, Dr. Nohria said iSearchCenter would provide services such as conversion of research into reports and reports into creative presentations with knowledge repositories of Net-based research in specified verticals.

``iSearchcenter will work towards providing a secure portal-based search request mechanism,'' Mr. Ganesh Natarajan, Managing Director, Aptech Ltd, said. The idea was to provide information for corporates. iSearchcenter would use high-skill, low-cost, Ind ia-based centres that would have skilled researchers who would scan the Web and create on-demand research reports, he added.

``The plan is to have a team of professionals working for every corporate client,'' Dr. Nohria said.

The concept definition is to provide services as an offshore outsourced service through discussions with Chief Executive Officers in US and Europe, Dr. Nohria said.

BConnectB already has contractual commitments worth Rs. 4 crores from healthcare service providers in the US and Franco Bernabe & Company, a Rome-based venture focussed on media and telecommunications. IsearchCenter is assigned to create a directory cate gorising the new economy and researching the World Wide Web to identify the major players in each category.
