Commodities Menthol rises on poor supply NEW DELHI: Menthol prices rose in the range of Rs 5-10 a kg in the national capital on Saturday due to restricted arrivals from Uttar Pradesh markets. Traders said reports of damage to mentha crop in producing area of Uttar Pradesh due to heavy rains created tight stocks position and helped in pushing up prices. They said firming trends in futures trading too had its impact on the trading sentiments. Menthol bold crystal, flake and mentha oil prices rose in the range of Rs 5-10 to Rs 710, Rs 685 and Rs 600 per kg respectively. However, prices of other chemicals ruled steady on scattered deals. Following were today's quotations: Ammonia bicarb (25 kg) 1440, Ammonium chloride (50 kg) 1500-2,000, acetic acid (1 kg) 45, boric acid technical (50 kg) 4,000-4,400, borex granular (50 kg) 2300. Caustic soda flake (50 kg) 1370, citric acid (50 kg) (China) 3,300-3,400, citric acid deshi (50 kg) 3,200-3400, camphor slab (1 kg) 300, camphor powder (1 kg) 270 glycerine (1 kg) 60-85, hexamine (1 kg) 75, hydrogen peroxide (1 kg) 33-35, mercury (34.5 k g) 35,000, menthol bold crystal (per kg) 710, menthol flake (1 kg) 685 and Mentha oil (1 kg) 600. - PTI
