Financial bids to be invited for 13 infrastructure projects

New Delhi, May 3 Decks have been cleared for inviting financial bids for 13 infrastructure projects from three sectors valued at Rs 7,946 crore with the inter-ministerial public-private partnership appraisal committee giving its nod.

The projects include widening of ten national highway stretches, modernisation of two non-metro airports and one tourism project.

According to a press release issued here on Friday, the committee met on April 30 and granted approval to 13 projects from three sectors.

The projects are spread over 10 States including two from Assam.

Since its constitution in January 2006, PPPAC has granted approval to 52 projects, with an estimated project cost of Rs 35,068 crore.

Projects

The projects include four laning of certain sections of various stretches such as Jorhat-Demow section of NH 37 in Assam on BOT (Annuity) basis and other BOT (toll) projects include four/six laning of Ghaziabad-Aligarh section in NH 91;

four/six laning of Amritsar-Pathankot section in NH 15; four laning of Bhubaneswar-Puri section in NH 203; six laning of Kishangarh-Ajmer-Beawar section in NH 8; Tiruchi-Karaikkudi section in NH-210 and

Tiruchi Bypass and Karaikkudi-Ramanathapuram section in NH-210.

Tourism infrastructure

The committee also approved a proposal to revitalise the Old Mint complex and developing tourism infrastructure in West Bengal.

It also gave an in-principle approval for city side development of Udaipur and Amritsar airports.
