TN chamber hails agro policy

Madurai, April 23

The Tamilnadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while welcoming the announcement in the Assembly by the Tamilnadu Minister for Agriculture, Mr Veerapandi Arumugam, that the government would soon come out with an exclusive policy for promotion of agro industries in the State, has suggested that a 15% special capital subsidy be given to food processing industries. The chamber pointed out that this sector was left out in the 10 thrust sector industries notified in the Tamil Nadu Government's Policy for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises released in February as eligible for such a subsidy. -Our Correspondent
