Deccan Aviation cuts losses in Q3

Bangalore, April 23

Deccan Aviation’s losses have reduced 6.34 per cent to Rs 199.65 crore during the third quarter of its financial year. In a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange, Deccan Aviation said its total income rose 32.83 per cent to Rs 607.66 crore during the same period. It said as per its business outlook, it had made significant progress with regard to synergies between the operations of Kingfisher Airlines with Deccan Aviation. “Accenture has been engaged to identi fy and realise the significant synergies arising from the combination of Deccan’s and Kingfisher operations. However, the full impact of the same will be visible in a phased manner during the next 12-18 months,” the statement said. It said with the summer schedule, there will be a rationalised network for the combined entity, drawn up effectively to leverage both the value market as well as the full service market spectrum. The company, at a board meeting, also agreed that Mr Vijay Mallya will be the Chairman of the board of directors taking over from Lt. Gen. N.S. Narahari, who will continue to remain a director on the board. Capt G.R. Gopinath will continue to be the Vice-Chairman.
