Roadways Road user satisfaction survey soon in Kerala Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government will conduct a road user satisfaction survey as part of the formulation of a comprehensive road development policy. Disclosing this to newspersons here, the Public Works Minister, Mr M.K. Muneer, said the survey would be carried out by Wilbur Smith Associates and the Centre for Management Development (CMD). It was expected to be completed within two months. The study would be part of the World Bank-funded road development project for which a sum of Rs 23 lakh was being set apart. The views of users such as drivers, vehicle owners and pedestrians would be taken into account before finalising the road development policy. All encroachments on PWD roads would be removed soon and the Highway Protection Act strictly enforced, Mr Muneer said. He added the State Government had received a positive response from the Centre to developing the National Highway 47 from Parassala to Cherthala to four lanes. The financial structure of the proposed expressway from Parassala in the South to Kasaragod in the North would be worked out within two months, he added. - Our Bureau
