APGenco units bag awards

HYDERABAD: Three power stations of the Generation Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (APGenco) - the Rayalaseema Thermal Power Project (RTPP), Vijayawada Thermal Power Station (VTPS) and Kothagudem Thermal Power Station Stage V (KTPS) - stood first, second and third respectively among all the power stations in the country.

The power stations have thus qualified for productivity award and gold medals instituted by Union Ministry of Power. Last fiscal, RTPP has achieved a plant load factor (PLF) of 94.8 per cent, while VTPS and KTPS have achieved a PLF of 93.2 per cent. All power stations of APGenco, on the average, have achieved a PLF of 88.9 per cent and generated 23,032 MW last year, according to a press release here on Monday.
