HLL postpones AGM

Our Bureau

MUMBAI: Hindustan Lever Ltd (HLL) has postponed its annual general meeting to June 13 from the earlier set date of April 30.

HLL said it was `constrained' to postpone the AGM since the dividend payment as well as payment of special dividend on the bonus debentures have been impacted by the changes in the Finance Bill.

Under the revised proposals, the provision for taxation of dividend at the hands of shareholders has been replaced by a provision of dividend distribution tax at the hands of the company at a flat rate of 12.81 per cent.

The company's board is due to meet on April 16 to consider its first quarter results.
