British Airways team meets TN CM

CHENNAI: A delegation from British Airways headed by Mr Mike J. Hall, Head of International Relations, Government and Industry Affairs called on the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Ms J.Jayalalithaa, on Tuesday to garner support for additional services to South India.

Mr Hall said the Chief Minister had assured them of her support. Mr Hall presented the airline's case and how there has been no increase in frequency in the past 14 years. The airline, he said 19 flights to India. Out of this, 16 were within the bi-lateral agreement and the three to Kolkata were out of this agreement, he said. This market is under served, he said.

Later, Mr Hall addressed the Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the possibility of increasing air services between Chennai and Londonand the need to meet the requirements of the business community.
