Switching Circuit, Thailand co sign pact

HYDERABAD, Oct. 8

LEONICS Co. Ltd of Thailand and Switching Circuit Pvt. Ltd, Kolkata, have signed a joint venture agreement for the manufacture of modern switching equipment, at the Technology Summit and Exhibition, which started here today.

The Andhra Pradesh Minister for major industries, Mr. K. Vidyadher Rao, also presented the `Best Innovative Technology Development — SSI' award to SEC Industries of Hyderabad for its indigenous development of a technology to make airframes for the Indian missile programme.

The awardee would get a free booth at the next Technology Summit & Exhibition in October 2003, it was announced. The Chairman, CII Southern Region, Mr. T. Kannan said an `Energy Summit', on similar lines as the Technology would be held soon in Chennai.

The two-day Technology Summit, jointly organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Andhra Pradesh Technology Development Corporation (APTDC) has Thailand and Taiwan as participating nations. Several industries are showcasing their technologies and representatives of industrial associations are participating in the deliberations.
